Day 53: Win this War
February 22, 2012 at 8:44pm
Strange old day for a Wednesday. I did some sketches in the morning before going to the pub to play pool (successfully by me) with my good friend Becky. Then it was a mad dash to the gym and an hour pumping iron with Sarah. Now I am finally having some quiet time before meeting Jennie about 11ish from her train. Good day.
This one just came from the brain. I was working more on the rhyming pattern than the actual meaning.
Come into my arms and tell me your woes,
Talk about battles you fought with your foes.
Reveal the secrets, but spare me the lies,
Now we are close I see past your disguise.
Do not be scared, you need people like me,
To confide in and ultimately set the light free.
Or else you’re consigned to long nights alone,
Stare off into space as the heart turns to stone.
Once your mind opens, do not let it close,
You are more precious than the rarest rose.
Out from the dungeons, your voice shall rise,
Enemies will flee at the sound of your cries.
Hearts started beating when you found the key,
As bad spirits in your world continue to flee,
Return proudly and sit tall on your throne,
The war is no more now the villain has flown.
